Me and Mr. Cullen

Well, ff.net hasn't ripped it down yet, though they have ripped down a friend of mines that has no explicit content. SMH. This whole thing is a dissaster!

Anyway, to update, the Me and Mr. Cullen blog is now up and rolling. I only have a few chapters uploaded, but I have added a bunch of pics:  meandmrcullen.blogspot.com

I am also waiting for my invite from AO3 to come through. A lovely person sent me one, but it hasn't come through. Honestly, from the sound of it, this AO3 is going to be the best place for everyone to eventually go. From what I've heard it is a really great site. It has a few problems as it is still in beta, and invites are a little hard to come by at the moment.

TWCS, on the other hand, is a bit difficult and I've had multiple people give negatives of the site.  Including no mobile edition and does not work with IE (a problem I have).

I'm going to post on both, and after a while take a vote to either keep just one or both. These two sites seem to be the best options at this point. Other sites such as Twilighted take way too long to load a chapter due to the validation process. Adultfanfiction.net has a terrible search process.

Will keep you updated!

  5. Same here Cat, I requested a username from AO3 early this past weekend. ETA is September. I know we can read it without a username and password though. You just won't know who the reviews are coming from - they will all be anonymous. I only had one other author I know of move there.

It will be easier to tell once we can actually log on to see if we can save favorites, etc. For now, it seemed the website had terrible issues this weekend. Therefore, my first opinion is not every good.

TWCS, seems to be hopping. I added tons of stories there this weekend as others packed up and moved. I do like the fact they allow pics since I fluv visuals with my stories. I use IE as well as chrome. I have never had an issue unless the site was down.

Mobile versions are not a big deal to me. They usually just tick me off and I viewed from the main site anyway.

Cannot get to FB from work, so I had to go this way to talk to you. Still have not found you at TWCS yet, but never-fear. I will keep searching.

Congrats on the Eclipse Awards honey.

  8. I requested an invite from AO3 but it'll be around October 2012. TWCS doesn't seem as compatible with IE, but if you could continue to post the story on TWCS for the time being I would truly appreciate it.

  9. seems like there is a massive need for a really well planned out website. I'll have to talk to my BIL about it.

  12. I am so glad you are keeping up informed. Thank you so very much. It saddens me that FF is doing this. This is such a witch hunt. The reason I like FF is it is user friendly. I wish they would just have made a category for NC17 and let us register and still keep the ease of access. I am surprised that FF is doing this in light of the publicity they are receiving from 50 Shades which is a story born and developed in FF. They are not very smart marketers. This is a wonderful place for authors to develop your stories and create a fan base. Keep up the good work. Thanks

  13. I think there is way too much censorship going on, and it seems as though there is no rhyme or reason to what is being pulled. I believe there is always a way to work things out, if it's something that's wanted, needed, and that is supported by so many. FanFiction.Nets' losses are now and will continue to be other sites' gains. It really is too bad; they are just shooting themselves in the foot.
I'm thankful that you and many other authors are posting their stories on their blogs and to other sites, so that we the fans can continue to love and enjoy your stories, so thanks for that. I think I would cry if I couldn't read Me and Mr. Cullen anymore. :o)
I'm on the waiting list for AO3; I am number 13,250 and will be notified around the middle of October.
Thanks for writing! You are appreciated!

  14. Seem like they are only going after stories with lots of reviews if you look up stories over 10000 word you used to see a tone of stories with reviews 500+ and lots of 2000+ now it is mostly only 100ish review stories (is the most recent updates). Makes you think.

  15. I hope you put your stories up on TWCS. I tried to get into AO3 and they the alert said it would be October before I could get on...maybe. I already have an account with TWCS. Good luck wherever you end up and thanks for keeping us informed.

  16. I am registered at TWCS, and I thought I read somewhere on the site that they were planning on building a library site which would stand alone from the rest of TWCS. I thought I read that it would be finished sometime this year. I am also registered at TwiWrite, another site that does not seem to censor. Of course, I am not sure what guidelines FF.net is using for the censorship. At this time it seems rather "willy nilly" at best. Some stories that they have kept are NC-17, but have not real plot--they seem to remain, but anything with a plot or story seems to have disappeared. JS, JS.

Anyways I have your blogspot, and I will follow you to whatever site you finally find as a home.

Truly enjoy your fictions. Thanks again.
PS: With regard to TWCS, I have IE and also read TWCS from my Blackberry, so I not sure why I access, but others cannot????

  17. I sent a request on A03 but it says I should get my invite by September 30th wow. Anyway, TWCS... I've ran into a few problems, though it may be because I'm on my cell phone (don't have a computer). I was actually reading a story and after each chapter I read to get to another I had to click the link saying I knew what the rating was or something until finally everytime I clicked it it just went back to that page. HOWEVER, I did find that twilighted is somewhat of a similar format but gives me a lot less problems (considering I was only able to read 3 chapters on TWCS before trying to find another way, verses I am nearly don't with the 56 chapters of the story I found and was reading... its complete).

  18. I like TWCS. Would love to read your fic there!

  19. There is always Twi-Write as well. I believe they have a mobile version and you can have your stories updates tweeted out (via twitterfeed) there where you can't at TWCS (yet).

  20. why don;t you just post them here in your blog?

  21. ADDITION FROM THE TWCS ADMINS: to combat the issue of length of time to upload pages: “We've removed the antique paper background and replaced it with a white background. That was a large image and took up a lot of bandwidth. We've also removed our PH blinky ad. Unfortunately, until we get the new site up and running we have to leave the category pics up on the home page.” The site would be too hard to navigate without the categories at the top.

  22. TWCS offers a skin that is more mobile friendly than the default skin. You can change this in two places. The first option would be by clicking on Account Info and then Edit Preferences. Once there change your skin to Vision. The second option is to change your skin on the home page. The skin changer can be found in the Site Info box located in the upper left column. Click on the dropdown menu and choose Vision.
